Sarah Watts

Sarah started her career working in the angel investment network in Northern Ireland and has since remained passionate about supporting growing companies and carving pathways to enable the most exciting ideas develop into successful businesses.

In 2012 she joined the RBS graduate scheme where she worked in the speciality finance team with Marc and Kieran, and later the corporate advisory team helping FTSE 250 companies with strategic M&A analysis and development of funding solutions. She joined Shawbrook Bank in 2014 where she focussed solely on the speciality finance market and worked up from analyst to director in 4 years. Here she was involved in the origination, execution and monitoring of senior debt facilities made to businesses in the consumer finance, point of sale finance, bridging, mortgage, debt purchase, SME finance and payment processing sectors – with a particular focus on helping the more niche and complex businesses obtain funding.

Alongside finance, Sarah has been very involved in hockey over the years, notably through sitting on the UK’s largest adult hockey club executive committee as Ladies Club Captain and Hockey Development Officer. Her work on the development of playing formats in London to attract returning players back into the sport was recognised through the nomination for national England Hockey Unsung Hero in 2017.
