Chris Orford

Chris joined Quilam Capital as General Counsel in 2024 having spent more than 10 years in private practice at Macfarlanes.

Chris worked on a wide range of transactions prior to starting with Quilam, with his practice covering everything from fund financings in leverage and direct lending, real estate deals including a portfolio of central London 5 star hotels, as well as working on more than £3bn of financings to the family offices of several ultra high net worth individuals.  Chris spent time on secondments at an investment bank, the real estate arm of a global bank and most recently at a London-based international emerging markets investment fund.

With experience on both borrower and lender sides, as well as throughout the capital structure, Chris is able to work with the team and Quilam’s clients to produce commercial solutions to the various legal considerations on all of our transactions.  He is proactive in managing the legal aspects of each transaction and always keen to help broker positive outcomes.
